On Friday, May 16 I purchased two more FarOut trail guides for Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire for $15.98 on a good sale.
May has arrived very quickly this year, and it was time to plan my next Appalachian Trail (AT) trip. The most unusual thing was that I couldn’t decide where to go till Sat, May 18. Finally, I decided to cover a small unfinished section of CT and start MA. This section of AT is 50 miles from Salisbury, CT to Mass Pike in MA.
The weather forecast everywhere in New England was so bad that I even thought of staying home and spending this time with the family.
What was new this time?
I took 2 charging batteries this time – one that I found on a soccer field. It can be charged, and it can give charge with the same USB-C cable.
New pair of walking sticks that we bought in Canada during our fasting trip in Jan 2025.
Because of super cold and rainy weather, I travelled with thick expensive pants from Sweden (Fjallraven Pants G1000) and Timberland boots instead of usual sandals. Also, I am taking 2 small notebooks – one almost completed from the previous Sep 2024 trip, and one new notebook.
hen I look at photos from my previous hiking trips, I am there. I want to go there even in the rain. And interestingly, the probability of rain is 100% for Thursday.
Because of the rain, I didn’t finish the packing and even went for a soccer game in Wayland at 8:30PM. The rainy and cold weather began to set in as we were playing the game.
