Preparation for the trip began immediately after completion of previous trip in September of 2022.

This jacket got its initial test during winter and sprint 2023. The results are excellent. Pockets are large and voluminous. Zippers are working reliably. Water is being repelled as needed.
— KEEN Men’s Newport Sandals to replace previous pair – September 2022 – Amazon – $81. These new Keens are heavier than old ones by 3 lb. (100 g) each. The feet in these new sandals are better protected with 3 straps instead of previous 2.
— Intex Explorer K2 Kayak, 2-Person Inflatable Kayak Set with Aluminum Oars, and High Output Air Pump to reach islands and far away shores – October 2022 – Amazon -$118.32.
— Darn Tough Hiker Boot Full-Cushion Socks – May 2023 – REI -$28. No preliminary test. First real use
— NRS Oso PFD – men’s lifejacket for kayaking – May 2023 – REI – $135.95. The life jacket was more expensive than the boat. The only test given to this new jacket was on Sunday, May 21 at Natick multiple connected ponds – Cochituate State Park.

Trip planning in Excel was detailed. The plan was to drop the car on AT parking at Caratunk, ME on route 201 and hitchhike 62 miles to the begging of the section on route 27 near Carrabassett Valley.
One month in advance, notify all three clients that I am taking 2 days before and one day after the Memorial Day weekend to make it a lasting 6-day vacation.
