When moving into a new house – what to remeber

PACKING
  – When packing the stuff, label each box from at least 3 sides – long one, short one and from the top. For fragile stuff use bright neon stickers.
 
MOVING SCHEMA
  -Create a very simple moving plan to list what area in the old hose moving into what area in the new house.
To create such plan you need to coordinate with all the family members to agree on the schema. That will save time when you discharge items from the moving tracks and immediately know what box to place where.

UTILITIES – switch utilities on your name
  – electric (all online)
  – gas (in person visit is required)
  – water/sewer (not required if you city will bill you registered owner)
  – request garbage bins with the city
  –
INTERNET – setup internet service
  – either Mobile Home ($50, but no port forwarding) or Verizon FIOS ($93)
  –

TRUCK
  – order a van or a truck ($50 + miles) (Note: king mattress can be folded into a regular van)
  –

BOXES
  – pick empty boxes with handles (important) at supermarkets. You can also cut handles with a utility knife and a cardboard template.
  –

MAIL
  – set Post office mail forwarding – one per one last name
  – bank, credit cards and AMAZON delivery address
  –

WORK
  – notify your HR
  –

NEW ADDRESS
  – you have 30 days to change the address on your Driver’s License – all online, no office visit is required
