How to run away from an anniversary, a big anniversary? One simply needs to travel away on a trip. On Friday I will reach one of those anniversaries and it is a perfect time to depart for a hiking trip to Appalachian Trail (AT).
This time I would go to that last uncovered White Mountains section – Carter Notch. The first impression was that it would be an easy 21-mile hike and I would have luxury to stretch the trip onto four days and three nights with low milage per day: 1.8 + 6.1 + 7.3 +5.8 mi.
It will be my seventh trip this year, so I was already tired in advance and almost hesitant to go. This time I had only 7 days gap since my return from previous trip to VT on August 21. So gathering things was an easy familiar process. But as the departure hour was getting closer and plans were taking more definite shape, the apathy changed into interest and even curiosity.
