    Three powerful dictators have died between 1970 and 1976:
    July 27, 1970 – Prime Minister of Portugal António de Oliveira Salazar died in Lisbon, Portugal (aged 81)
    November 20, 1975 – Spanish dictator Francisco Franco died in Madrid, Spain ((aged 82)
    September 9, 1976 – Chairman of the Communist Party of China Mao Zedong died in Beijing, China (aged 82)
