Home › Forums › Inside › This WordPress Site › Pie Register plugin gives HTTP 500 error on Register button
There is a wonderful pluging – Pie Register. It makes so many complex tasks simple. It forses new users to validate their email, it allows to add a costom fields both to registration and to user profiles. However, it doesn’t wotk on IIS7 and inServer 2008 and on Server 2008 R2 machines. When you press Register bubbot you either get a blank page,o or HTTP 500 error.
I finally found a solution (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/registering-form-doesnt-work-at-submit), but is it an obscure one. Simply remark out line number 1188 on the main pluging page “pie-register.php”.
I already tested this on Windows Server 2008 with IIS7 and WordPress 3.5.1. Very shortly I will tell you if the same solution works for 2008 R2 with IIS 7.5 and WP 3.5.1.
Thank you for your post.
We are currently testing this very plugin (Pie Register) for our own side, and we ran into HTTP error 500 on 2 of our test servers. Your post points my developer’s team into a right direction.
The solution offered (remark out line 1188 in “pie-register.php” is solving 95% of the problem. However, there is one scenario, when this fix doesn’t work:
If you are already logged in into the site in one browser session, and trying to register in another browser session, you still will get a blank page on HTTP 500 error depending on the browser you use.
By any chance, do you have a solution for this problem?
