As the other post said, only Apple had the phones in store.
Apple store oppened at noon today, and I was 3-rd or 4-th in the line outside.
Receipt is maked 12:30PM. I was transfering the number from AT&T to Verizon.
By 13:20 I was home already.
Phone still did not work
Only later (15:40), I was instructed by a Verizon customer phone system to dial *228 to programm the phone.
Charger from old iPhone 2G – the original one is working – 5V as well.
Plastic belt clip from original iPhone also works with this new iPhone.
To complete transition from AT&T to Verizon you still need to dial *228 on your new iPhone.
Next, you can register on their site, and a TEMP password will be sent to you as a TEXT message.
Here are some quick first impressions and notes on iPhone 4S
– Sticky protective screens from iPhone 2 (original) still fit 4S with a minor misalignment;
– Notes are now searchable – tap on status bar while in Notes;
– Siri dictation trick: Say “period”, to put a dot.
QUESTIONS:
How to get old notes from iPhone 2 that is no longer activated?
How to spell complicated names with Siri?
– Email – Use Bold, Italic and Underline in your emails. Select a word or phrase. Note a triangle in a Copy/Select/Select All popup. Tap it – Cool!
