Who wants to keep America locked? A new name for old demons.

I demand to reopen America unconditionally. It is time! But who could be against such an obvious demand? – Governors. – But why? – It cannot be just a desire to stay in the spotlight of an emergency power for just a little bit longer. – Could it? Let us examine.

So far, I found just one hint of what is happening while America is sitting at home deprived of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. On April 1, California Governor Gavin Newsom said that the current crisis is an “opportunity for reimagining a progressive era as it pertains to capitalism” (https://californiaglobe.com/section-2/gov-newsom-coronavirus-is-opportunity-for-reimagining-a-more-progressive-era/).

That sounds scary enough.  Did any of us – Americans – give a consent to reimagine anything while we are sitting at home?  Let’s search for this new code word that accidentally slipped at a press conference – Reimagine Democracy.  The number one link under this code name is an article from February 7, 2020 from Progressive.org – weeks before first US COVID-19 death. (https://progressive.org/magazine/reimagine-democracy-taylor/).  This is a program document of a new movement. You have to read to the end. You must extinguish all your emotions and read as a witness, not as a citizen. You have to read to the end where a true affiliation and sympathy is  revealed – democratic socialism and democratic socialists: ” Democratic socialists understand that we have to engage the system as it is, while also working to transform it.”  That is a program.  From there it is just one step to The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) (https://www.dsausa.org/) where you’ll find the usual story: all our achievements are rotten and they should be exchanged for strong Government, strong unions and high inheritance taxes.

What is the lesson?  America, please remember the name progressives.  They are reimagining America for us.  When you hear that name and arguments that democracy is under attack – that is a new more palatable name for democratic socialists.

And they want to keep America shackled while capitalism is wounded, locked and dying in isolation at home.  What a nightmare!
