In conversation with Dima N. yesterday we established 3 measures for a country’s sovereignty:
–01– Number of armed conflicts the country is in, i.e. the immediate obligation to fight. Ex.: Ukraine, Israel.
–02– Number of international treaties the country is in, i.e. the obligations to comply. Ex: Paris accord.
–03– Money or goods received as donations or gifts, i.e. the entanglements.
–04– Geography. Ex.: UK as an island, or Afghanistan as a rugged mountainous area.
